Oxifree provides ease of inspection as the coating can be cut away for NDT inspection and “re-melted” to reseal the area instantly. It requires zero surface preperation as it can be applied over minimally prepared surfaces, even in humid conditions. While high-pressure hydroblasting is a common industry standard, it often leaves a thin layer of scale behind and consumes massive amounts of water.
Pegasus utilizes Conco ProSeries™ mechanical cleaners, which offer a superior clean in total deposit removal. Conco’s spring-loaded metal cleaners physically scrape the tube ID, removing tenacious scale that water jets simply glide over.
The surface polishing is unlike chemical cleaning, the mechanical scraping leaves the tube wall smooth, which actually slows down the refouling process.
In terms of water conservation, the mechanical cleaning uses significantly less water than traditional hydroblasting, reducing your plant’s environmental footprint and waste disposal costs.
